Wentzville School District – Everything You Need to Know
Welcome to Wentzville, a vigorously growing city with a population now exceeding 29,000. This city which has been around since 1855 and had a population of roughly 5,000 in 1990 has seen a huge increase over the past decade. With these huge increases in population also come changes to the Wentzville School District.
The Wentzville School District is made up of nine elementary schools, three middle schools, and three high schools.
One of these changes is that the Wentzville School District has realigned its school boundaries. One of the main reasons this was put into effect was the overcrowding some of the schools, mainly Frontier Middle School. With the new realignment things seem to be much simpler. There are now three groups of elementary schools consisting of three schools each. All three schools in each group are assigned the same middle school, and the students from each respecting middle school will be assigned to one high school (all assuming that the students remain at their current residence, or within the school districts boundaries for each respective school). The groups are broken down as follows.
Timberland High School
South Middle School
Boone Trail Elementary
Duello Elementary
Green Tree Elementary
High School on Sommers Road
Frontier Middle School
Crossroads Elementary
Prairie View Elementary
Discovery Ridge Elementary
Holt High School
Wentzville Middle School
Heritage Primary School
Lakeview Elementary
Peine Ridge Elementary
We hope this information helps. Wentzville is a great place to raise a family, and we are very excited to see the upcoming changes to our school district. We truly value education and believe that we are on the right path and will continue on that patch as we keep growing even during times of a slower economy. We are looking forward to seeing more and more of our students become high school graduates and in turn love seeing more and more of our high school graduates attend college. Whether it is for local community colleges or to four year universities we would like to try to increase the number of scholarships available in our community and make as many students as possible aware of these wonderful opportunities.
